Title: Team Manager - Autism Location: Huddersfield Salary: £23,350+ Depending on experience Responsible to: Responsible for: Summary: Main Duties 1 Service Delivery 1.1 To be responsible for the support work practice in the project and to ensure that it reflects the philosophy, policies and procedures and practice statements of the organisation. 1.2 To be the registered manager for the project if it is registered under the Care Standards Act 2000 and comply with the regulations therein. 1.3 To promote the development of self-help/independence skills of the people we are supporting, as well as meaningful relationships particularly with family and friends and socially valued leisure, employment opportunities and social inclusion. 1.4 To initiate and manage the development and implementation of keyworker and individual care planning systems, including the identification of needs and the formulation of appropriate interventions as required. 1.5 To be responsible for the health and safety of the people we support and staff at the Project(s) and ensure that the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act are met. 2 Service Evaluation/Development 2.1To contribute to the Planning Process by being responsible for devising the project aims and objectives with the help of the staff team and the people we support. 2.2To assist the Area Manager in the monitoring and evaluation of service delivery and the collation of management information, with particular emphasis being placed on the involvement of people we are supporting. 3 Finance & Resource Management 4 Staff Management 4.1To be responsible, with assistance from the Area Manager and Administrator, for the day to day management of staff (recruitment, selection, managing attendance, discipline and grievances, health and safety etc) in the Project(s) ensuring full compliance with corporate human resource policies and procedures . 4.2 To ensure that all staff receive regular supervision (including coaching and mentoring) and appraisal in accordance with the clients policies and procedures. 4.3 To identify the competencies needed within the work team to meet corporate, locality and team goals and use these to assess individual employees competencies and thereby establish training and development needs which inform the Locality Training Plan. 4.4 To work with staff to identify, plan, implement and review training and development plans including the validation and assessment of training and development activities completed by staff. 4.5 To ensure the integration of learning into the workplace through the development of an environment which encourages practice and competency based learning and development as a routine part of daily activities. 4.6 To consult regularly and maintain links with corporate post holders, training communities and any other relevant partners responsible for training and development. 4.7 To participate in the delivery of training and development activities in designated areas of expertise and also participate in training and development activities relevant to the post. 4.8 In consultation with line manager to have primary and active responsibility for own continuing self development and ensure that evidence is produced to support this. 5 Housing Management 6 General Responsibilities 6.2 To behave in a professional manner at all times, reflecting and maintaining the values and ethos of the organisation and thereby generate a positive image of the organization at all times. 6.3 To ensure effective communication and confidentiality on behalf of service users and staff in all aspects of the work both internally within the organisation and externally to other organisations. Person Specification Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ 4 however if you possess the necessary skills NVQ 3 maybe accepted. Experience of working with individuals with autism spectrum conditions is essential. Experience of holding responsibility for a service within the care sector, preferably independent living or residential within Autism or Learning Disabilities. Experience of working with people who demonstrate challenging behaviour.
